Edwards as well as O'Neil Included in Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Edwards along with O'Neil represent the initial candidates under consideration to succeed the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on Sunday following the team's 10-match without a victory beginning to the top-flight season.

Furthermore both candidates - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.

The manager is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a possible hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the former Luton manager - who made more than 100 of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is considered a strong candidate for the position.

The mid-career manager is said to have support from the Wolves board as they begin the search of hiring a new head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected candidate, although he would be a shock appointment given he was released by the club in December last year.

The ex- West Ham player is currently unemployed meaning Wolves would not be required to pay any buyout fee.
