A female indicted with stalking Kate McCann allegedly left her a phone message which asked: "what if I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, 24, who witnesses stated has repeatedly claimed she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are facing charges indicted with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, the court heard communication data and information obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test during the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most covered missing child cases and remains unresolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One recorded message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm fat and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I know what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I'm her? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the recording stated.

The tribunal was told that by means of emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a bid to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who compiled the evidence, informed the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to family friends of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will persist and I plan to establish my claim."

The court heard the co-defendant struck up a association via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out through communication app to Mrs McCann to express the press had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the months preceding the visit to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.

The court was told communications between the two individuals, in that autumn, discussing attempting to obtain Mrs McCann's genetic material from her bins or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We need to make a stand," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their home, Mrs Spragg sent a message which stated: "We are sat adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark like investigators. I had hoped to achieve this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."
